Introduction to maritime battery safety

Objective

Using the knowledge gained, OilComp and Bergen Fire Department, in collaboration with Corvus Energy and Siemens Energy, created a two-day course (e-learning and digital class) to provide participants with fundamental knowledge on prevention, function, operation, risk, and emergency measures for lithium-ion battery fires.

Target group

Technical personnel and individuals involved in shore-based roles within the shipping industry.

Course content

The course is divided into two parts, where you will first complete an e-learning before you participate in a course with an instructor.

E-learning has been named:
Handling fire in a Lithium-ion battery on a vessel - Basic course

In terms of work, the e-learning part amounts to about 6 teaching hours (a 45 min), while the course collection has a duration of 8 teaching hours and ends with an exam.
