IWCF Drilling Well Control (Level 3 & 4) - ENG
Objective
The programme is aimed at persons in well control critical positions on drilling installations and onshore roles.
Candidates are required to complete an IWCF accredited training course prior to sitting assessment.
Course content will be taught according to the IWCF syllabus and will prepare candidates for the IWCF examinations and assessment.
Assessment consists of
◦Practical assessment using simulator equipment.
◦Written testing.
Certificates are valid for 2 years.
Target group
Personnel who are involved in drilling and well control operations and entitled to have an IWCF certificate. Drilling supervisors, -engineers, assistant drillers, drillers. For detailed information about target groups, see OGP Report 476/12.
Candidates may choose to undertake either Surface BOP operations or Combined Surface and Subsea operations.
Two levels are available for either option;
-Driller level (Level 3)
-Supervisor level (Level 4)
Course content
-Practical well control Principles and procedures
-Well control equipment. Simulator Training
IWCF Test:
Practical Simulator Test; 1,5 hours.
Well Control equipment; 1 hour.
Principles and procedures; 1,5 - 2,5 hours

Prerequisites
The course is seen as demanding, and we recommend that the participants have completed Polytechnic College or former IWCF Rotary Drilling Well control course driller level (Level 3) or supervisor level (Level 4).
