Competence management
OilComp has developed a competence management system and advisory service that is based on the competence requirements set by the authorities, customers or the company itself. We call this overview a Competence Matrix.
The requirements are then measured against the individual employee's documented competence. If during competence mapping a deviation is shown between the competence requirements matrix and the individual documented expertise, it will appear as a competence GAP. Measures are made visible in an effective way to redeem this discrepancy. Such deviations are normally covered through courses etc., where documentation of acquired new competence (eg course certificate) is automatically updated in the customer's HR systems (integration).
Mapping
Mapping and targeted measures to cover GAP of the employee's competence are done as follows:
- The formal requirements for the individual position and function are identified in the competence matrix.
- A collection of each employee's previously acquired competence is carried out.
- A GAP between the competence the individual employee possesses and the requirements they have set above is then revealed.
- Measures (courses) are thus aimed at covering defined competence gaps.
Good competence management is a key factor for safe and efficient operation.
Competence management systems and concepts
Developing your own Competence Management Systems and Concepts is usually extremely resource-intensive in terms of time and costs. Once such systems have been set up, they are very resource-saving.
OilComp has developed and delivered such services for the past 15 years to large and small customers. Together with our customers, we have developed systems and processes that streamline their everyday lives and give them a good and predictable overview of the competence of the employees and the competence requirements that are set for them in the future (eg in connection with budgeting). We strive to make these processes automatic, which means that the customer can work more systematically and continuously with their own competence management than would otherwise be possible.
Active work for competence development makes the company more attractive when recruiting new employees and contributes to increased motivation among the established ones. Higher competence among the employees will again improve the company's efficiency and focus on future-oriented activities such as health, environment and safety.
